a bright and sunny day

I had a hell lot of fun today! after what seemed like an eternity..a little action in life with great company like Zhaoting and new friend Si Min, Zhaoting's friend, whom I got to know not long ago.

I met them at around 11am this morning to catch the K lunch slot. And I was singing and singing my heart out. I've never felt more lifted. Away from all the temporary worries and sadness. For the first time ever, K lunch food APPEALED to me. It was actually not bad. The curry chicken cutlet set.
And Zhao's voice is very nice! :)

haha she keeps saying she looks like a Malay next to me. tan la go tan summore la...haha!

Zhao and Simin.

yeaa the food festival chilli crabb. so fat and cute. we created sucha hoo-haa while taking these photos..so embarrassing lahhh we saw a bunch of guys laughing at us! summore Simin said they were from tpjc and she's from tp that's why! lol.

Here's another crab photo.

OH MAN AFTER THAT WE WENT TO WATCH NATIONAL DAY PARADE 2006 PREVIEW. ! ! I know it's a little early to celebrate Singapore's 41st birthday but...haha. it was really a veh last minute plan as Simin had like 5 extra tickets at the Grandstand and so we decided to tag along with her and her mummy! cool. So unexpected can. But I was so thrilled by the idea as going with Zhao that kido would surely be lots of fun :D

So before meeting Simin's mum at Kallang we were chionging around town buying bread and water hehe. We bought 8 bread from Breadtalk ! cos we were so scared of getting starved at the Stadium.

Hoho people, Zhao actually can be veh aunty one kae. She saw the whole tray of bread the person was carrying fresh from the oven and went "OH! look! new one leh!" then chionged and kiapped the pork floss bread from the tray in the person's hands before he could put it down. hahaha! Simin and I were really laughing hard :DD omg. cuteness haha.

And our dressing for the event was totally wrong. Everyone else was in red and all looked toughed up and rah-rah all ready to give their oomph for Singapore, while the 3 of us really looked dressed up and had the we-came-from-town look. haha!

Upon emerging into the audience stand of the stadium, we were faced with a whole sea of red. It was like WHOW. RED.

Then we were excitedly rummaging through the goodie bag like happy kids, squealing at the torch, the fan, the air-banger things, the kids mag.......looking at our elated faces you would nvr guess we are 17 yr olds haha.

True excitement.The Nokia 3250 torchlight.

When the show started, I felt a warm sense of familiarity. Looking at all the kids and the school children made me suddenly feel so old. It feels good to feel the kiddish sense of patriotism once again. SO the three of us were doing our best to enjoy ourselves to the max and were like self-highing there HAHA.

The local artists/compares Gurmit Singh, Michelle Chia, Sheik Hakiel and Jean Danker came down from the top of the stadium to the field on a huge flying fox down the side of the National Stadium. damn cool.

The three of us were singing damn loudly along to the Semoga Bahagia, Home and the Wo shi nian qing den wei guo jun songs. haha! damn gao xiao. I think the Malay family behind us was very amused cos we were so enthu haha. And the little girl in front of us was so cute. She kept smiling at us so we had to take her picture. Same goes for the other smiley little girl sitting next to me. I had to take her picture too haha. (erh I'm not a peadophile)..

Some hot-air balloon acrobat stunt.

The parachutists.

The march-past was boring as usual. It made me stone. But the reason me and Zhao took these pictures was to zoom into their faces to look for eye-candies haha! Stupid la.

Poser the President on the lorry drive past: Minister of Defence Teo Chee Hien (i think wrong spelling).

Tattoos! heh veh fun..

Mediacorp artist Vincent Ng and his army strutting their wushu stuff. Some random act bimbotic shots haha. eee Sick!

Evening to night..time to use the cool Nokia torch. The whole stadium got so beautiful......

NOT TO FORGET THE CAPS. check out the flashing flag at the top. We were DAMN amused by it.

During the fireworks, Zhaoting and I were screaming hysterically like no one's business.

Despite all the sweat and the heat, I think I would definitely make it a point to try for NDP tickets every year. Who said NDP was corny .. hehe. You only get to feel this level of patriotism within this very stadium once a yr. It's the only time we see Singaporeans showing so much love. So why not.

Thanks Simin =) for the tickets.

And oh yes, my neighbour is the designer guy who designed ALL the costumes for this year's NDP celebration. I bet he's earning big bucks. His house is filled with all the mannequins and all tt stuff. And during weekends I see him holding dance lessons in his living room when I walk past. Pro-ness lah tt guy..hmm and not to mention he's a very nice neighbour.
